The moon filter will be useful on surprise surprise the moon, it will lessen a residual image being imprinted on the eye when you cease looking at the moon. We have previously reviewed the Celestron Kit and you will find that article on the Astronomy and Photography index page. Meade’s Series oculars feature seven-layer multi-coatings, edge blackened elements and fold-down rubber eyecups. I think the key thing initially is to just observe rather than worry about swapping eyepieces. Last but not least, the aluminum carry case is sturdy and compact and makes it incredibly easy for you to carry around the Meade lens and eyepiece kit. If you’ll be wanting to stay local and only look at planets, then the Meade Plossl’s will serve you just fine. I find that with my other Barlow – its a 2″ ED Revelation Barlow, It sticks quite a way out of the diagonal, this with a 2″ EP makes for quite a large protrusion from the diagonal.
Not yet, im looking at getting meade series uw 14mm or antares w Even if there is no instructions manual coming with the set, you can find a lot of Meade Series Eyepiece for Telescope with Filter Set YouTube guidelines and many online Meade Series Eyepiece for Telescope images that act as a tutorial to help you correctly assemble the components, filters and eyepieces, even if you do this for the first time. Due to the limited eye relief of the shorter focal length Plossl’s, the 15mm, 32mm and 40mm eyepieces will probalby get the most use. The Ep’s are a little bit of an individual taste – the cheaper ones are a starting point – but I still have the Meade ‘s and the Hyperions and not a Nagler in sight!! Nice 1 Al, you could probably Barlow the 26mm to give you a nice effective 13mm x with a x2 or around a 10mm x with a x2. The Meade Series Eyepiece for Telescope with Filter Set is everything you can wish for from an accessory kit if you owned a beginner to intermediate telescope for a while and feel like learning some more. Not sure if you have much light pollution to put up with but there’s always a work around if you have.
I certainly don’t practice what I preach but I keade suggest only purchasing one or two ‘better’ eyepieces initially. The Meade Series Eyepiece for Plosxl with Filter Set is everything you can wish for from an accessory kit if you owned a beginner to intermediate telescope for a while and feel like learning some more. We have never found much use for colored eyepiece filters, but the majority of the components of this set are useful and it is a way for the beginning telescope owner to acquire a set of eyepieces that, along with the 25mm Plossl ocular that probably came with his or her telescope, leaves them prepared to observe practically anything in the heavens.
Both sets include filters, an inexpensive Barlow lens and an aluminum carrying case.

The best price on meafe market for a set in this category and the Meade reputation convince us to recommend this product wholeheartedly to all those who are serious about space exploration.
The only Series focal lengths not included are the 26mm that comes with most telescopes and the 20mm, which we think would be more useful than the 6.
And if you will be wishing to leave the solar-system, then you would find that eyepieces with wider field of views FVOsuch as Baader Hyperions, will be much appreciated. The lenses offer improved light transmission and contrast, being well calibrated and easy to use for the amateur astronomer to be able to see crystal clear the Moon, Saturn or Jupiter with all its moons for instance.
Most of us have the set-of-4 coloured filters – most often collecting dust. Posted November 23, edited. Prev 1 2 Next Page 1 of 2. The set also includes 4 filters for better clarity and amazing viewing of details on planets and stars. Leave the larger open clusters – like the one in the centre of Perseus to binoculars, you can concentrate on the brighter Planetery Nebulae – the snowball, the Eskimo, the Saturn all take more mag than most – they really give you a sense of what the stars have gone through – its only when you increase the mag that the outer detail becomes non – stellar.
Yes dew shield first but preferably a heater at the same time which can be plugged into your power tank no problem I think.
Both are priced similarly, so probably equally as good, the 2″ better for the larger 2″ EP’s. As for the colour-filters, eyepidce are quite rarely used. There’re many other excellent ideas here: Telescope upgrades usually come in the shape of extra eyepieces and filters and today we will take a look at the Meade Series Eyepiece for Telescope with Filter Set to maede if this set is as good as it is advertised.
Series 4000 Super Plössl 6.4mm (1.25″)
That is a bad combination, as it increases your chances of getting a new ocular with a flaw in materials or workmanship and decreases your chances of having the problem resolved promptly and successfully.
Plossls are excellent for deep space viewing and for seeing faint planetary nebula.
So for my scope, this should give me fantastic moon view. I think the key thing initially is to just observe rather than worry about swapping eyepieces.
Series Super Plössl mm (“) Telescopes, Solar Telescopes, Binoculars, Spotting Scopes
Having a telescope for stargazing and learning about the mysteries of the universe is the first step amateur astronomers usually take in order to practice their hobby and get accustomed with how ploswl work.
Thanks Paul,Gavin loads of good advice there to keep me busy. Last but not least, the aluminum carry case is sturdy and compact and makes it incredibly easy for you to carry around the Meade lens and eyepiece kit. Eyeglass wearers will find Plossl oculars shorter than about 25mm lacking in eye relief.
Meade’s Series oculars feature seven-layer multi-coatings, edge blackened elements and fold-down rubber eyecups. A dew-shield is a very much needed investment. Im just wondering if this ep set would be a good investment for this scope.

Enjoy your 8″ LX90 – that’s one very fine instrument. The Celestron plossk is less expensive, but only includes five, lower quality, Plossl oculars instead of six. All depends what you want to do with the scope seties its got quite a long focal length at F10 and is geared towards the Planets and the Moon. Not sure if you have much light pollution to put up with but there’s always a work around if you have.
As a complete novice, as yet not even a beginner would ut be worth to get this before getting more expensive ep, when i have a clue what im doing! With the SCT your not going to get a really large field of view – maybe around a degree or so – ideal for the Planets and the Moon, but not so good for the open star clusters your going to have to sweep the sky a little to get them all in – even the Double Cluster in Perseus is only going to be a cluster at a time and you’ll need to sweep over to the other cluster to see, your not going to get the 2 clusters in the same field of view.
